For this Sunday Studio workshop, join artist Alan Nakagawa in creating an artwork inspired by our 40th anniversary exhibition, The Foundation of the Museum: MOCA’s Collection; works on view by Japanese artist On Kawara and Cuban artist Belkis Ayón; and powerful stories of courage by Japanese American citizens during the Second World War, developed in collaboration with the Go For Broke National Education Center.

OOF Books Presents: A Book Launch for Cynthia Daignault's Light Atlas

As part of the OOF Books pop-up at our Warehouse location, a reception will be held on the occasion of the release of Cynthia Daignault's first artist monograph, Light Atlas. This new four hundred-page hardcover book, published by Gregory Miller and Company, documents all 360 paintings of Light Atlas with new essays by Alexander Nemerov, David Campany, and Cynthia Daignault.

Her exhibition brings together a diverse set of artworks and ephemeral materials to shed light on the role the museum and its staff of curators, registrars, and conservators play in the life of the works in its permanent collection.
