Zoe Leonard and Gregg Bordowitz in Conversation

Over the last thirty years, artist and writer Gregg Bordowitz has generated performance and literary works about sexuality, death, and the AIDS crisis. An active member of ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power), Bordowitz’s famous autobiographical video work Fast Trip, Long Drop (1993) grappled with the cultural climate around AIDS and its representation in society as it intersected with his personal experiences. In connection to Zoe Leonard: Survey, an exhibition highlighting Leonard’s rigorous, questioning attention to the politics and conditions of image making and display, Leonard and Bordowitz discuss the retrospective as a format, as part of their longstanding friendship and dialogue.
