MOCA will share ways that we can come together to support our communities in need every Tuesday via our social media channels. Whether renewing your membership, ordering delivery from local independent businesses, or donating goods and services to those that could use it the most, Giving Tuesday will highlight ways we can all help sustain and strengthen our communities.
Today we would like to highlight and send aid to our neighbors at Skid Row Coffee, a social enterprise café that provides on-the-job training, products, and services that nourish the mind, body, and soul. Let’s help support the physical and economic health of Skid Row Coffee and its employees!
Skid Row Coffee, like many food businesses, has been closed since March 2020 because of Covid-19. Due to this, they had to temporarily suspend on-the-job training and their cafe that serves and nourishes the Downtown, Los Angeles community. As they navigate these uncertain times, Skid Row Coffee is striving to continue to pay for business operation costs (rent, utilities, insurance, and loans) and payroll for their five employees. We can help by making a donation in support of their business!
Your donation will help provide immediate financial support to their employees as well as help aid overhead costs. Help keep their organization and employees safe and healthy, so they can soon return to serving and nourishing our beloved communities. To learn more about Skid Row Coffee watch this video from The L.A. Times.
Skid Row Coffee is rooted in food justice to help build healthy communities and is a 501c3 organization; donations are tax-deductible.
