The "Minor Players" of Art History: Reassessing the Field

​This roundtable discussion will address the omission of women from the dominant art historical narrative, both on a local and global scale. On the occasion of two major exhibitions presented for the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA initiative, Anna Maria Maiolino at MOCA Grand Avenue and Radical Women at the Hammer Museum, Hammer Chief Curator Connie Butler and Los Angeles–based artists Barbara T. Smith and Lita Albuquerque will discuss their work to remedy this as curators, art historians, and artists. MOCA Chief Curator Helen Molesworth will moderate.
