For this program, scientists, artists, activists, and thinkers come together to discuss the major threats to our oceans and how to synchronize our economic system with nature’s ecosystem. Participants include Scott Bolton, principal investigator of NASA’s Juno mission; Shawn Heinrichs, filmmaker and activist; Greg Long, big wave surfer; and artist Doug Aitken and MOCA Director Philippe Vergne; moderated by Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley for the Oceans. This program is organized in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans and is part of a series of in-gallery programs focusing on core ideas in the exhibition Doug Aitken: Electric Earth.
Priority seating is available to MOCA members one hour before the program. Fifteen minutes before the program begins seating will be open to non-members. Early arrival is recommended.
