Why do artists make work? What is art supposed to do? Explore these questions by looking at the art on view in One Day at a Time: Manny Farber and Termite Art and by making your own art with Los Angeles based multidisciplinary artist Jimena Sarno in collaboration with the MOCA Teen Program. In her own installations, Sarno draws from her personal experience to build, rearrange, and recontextualize objects, images, sound, and found texts. Participants are invited to create their own three-dimensional objects using assemblage and sculptural techniques and collaborate on an installation.
Sunday Studio is MOCA’s free, drop-in event featuring art workshops for makers of all ages and experience levels. Programs include family-friendly tours in the museum, art-making explorations, music, and Toddler Town, a space with activities designed for small hands. Join the fun!
