Experimental vocalist Carmina Escobar is a performer, improviser, sound and intermedia artist from Mexico City. Her work focuses primarily on sound, the voice, the body, and their interrelations to physical, social, memory and present spaces. Ellen Phan works primarily in the field of computer music. Creating a distinctly psychoacoustic sound sphere, Phan’s performances aim to open the subconscious mind by employing the teachings of hypnosis. The evening will give Escobar and Phan the stage to showcase their dissociative, abstract approach to the sonic experience as a part of the MOCA Music series.
