Join Los Angeles–based artist Math Bass as she leads an informal walkthrough of Don’t Look Back: The 1990s at MOCA. Bass’s work combines performance with paintings and sculptures whose dimensions typically refer to the scale of the body or architectural elements. Constructed as simplified, abstract, geometric and graphic forms, the works are installed to mirror each other, a strategy for triangulating the viewer within formations of objects and rendering the body both present and absent.
