Leadership Circle supporters at the Curators Circle level and above are invited to an off-site walkthrough of At the Edge of the Sun, led by Jeffrey Deitch and MOCA Curator Anna Katz. Artists Michael Alvarez, Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., and Shizu Saldamando, who are featured in the exhibition, will be in attendance at the walkthrough. Their work is included in Katz's upcoming exhibition Ordinary People: Photorealism and the Works of Art since 1968 at MOCA Grand Avenue opening on November 24, 2024.
As an artist-founded museum, artists are central to MOCA's history and vision for the future. This event is part of an ongoing series of walkthroughs where members can directly engage with artists from the museum’s renowned collection. These intimate gatherings throughout Los Angeles provide a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from artists. Recent walkthroughs have been led by Kelly Akashi, Uta Barth, Diedrick Brackens, Kenturah Davis, Ulysses Jenkins, Suzanne Lacy, Glenn Ligon, Jordan Nassar, Catherine Opie, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, Barbara T. Smith and Jonas Wood.
An invitation with event details will be emailed to members at the Curators Circle level ($1,500) and above. Memberships can be purchased or renewed online. If you would like to upgrade an existing membership, please contact the Membership Department at membership@moca.org.
