Filmforum at MOCA Presents All That You Can’t Leave Behind

Screening

In person: Darol Olu Kae and Sara Suarez

All That You Can’t Leave Behind is a program of films mixing the personal and the political, using montage, memory, and archives as not only filmic strategies but tools of intervention. Taking its name from Ufuoma Essi’s deeply sensorial video collage, this program gestures to fissures within the historical record and the radical potential of documenting and witnessing. The evening will feature new works and the Los Angeles premieres of films by Essi, Ja’Tovia Gary, Darol Olu Kae, Rhea Storr, Sara Suarez, and ariella tai. Filmmakers Suarez and Kae will be in-person to discuss their work.

Tickets available in advance.
