Los Angeles–based artist Jonas Wood creates vivid images, rendering space and everyday life with a compressed perspective in bold graphic hues. This monograph—the first on the artist’s work—brings together Woods’s most significant paintings and drawings. In doing so, it offers a unique insight into his vast array of sources: family photographs, found imagery, baseball cards, and other people’s art, including the ceramics of his wife, artist Shio Kusaka. The book includes contributions by Helen Molesworth and Ian Alteveer (Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) and a conversation between Wood and Los Angeles–based artist Mark Grotjahn.

Jonas Wood by Mark Grotjahn, Helen Molesworth, Ian Alteveer. Phaidon, December 2019.
