A Meander-Through Simone Forti with Emily Mast

Join artist Emily Mast as she leads a creative “meander-through” of the exhibition Simone Forti. Mast, a longtime friend and collaborator of Forti’s, will share stories and memories from Forti’s friends, family, former students, collaborators, and caretakers. A guided tour written by a small orchestra of people, this “meander-through” will include stories both related to the work on view and not, offering visitors a highly personal glimpse into Forti’s community and a key insight into what makes her and her work as an artist so special.

Emily Mast's work pulls from a combination of practices—visual art, theater and dance—and is anchored in the production of multi-compositional projects that employ performance, installation and curation. She has staged “choreographed exhibitions” and presented performances at Villa Medici, Rome (2022); JOAN, LA (2022); Picasso Museum, Barcelona, Spain (2019); Theatre des Champs Elysees, Paris (2019); Los Angeles Dance Project (2019); LUMA Foundation, Arles, France (2018 & 2019); Human Resources, Los Angeles (2022 & 2018); FRAC Occitanie Montpellier, France (2017); Grazer Kunstverein, Graz, Austria (2017); Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2017); Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Toronto (2016); Ferme du Buisson, Noisiel (2015); Mona Bismarck American Center, Paris (2015); Silencio, Paris (2015); Los Angeles County Museum of Art (2014); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2014); Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Project Space, New York (2013); REDCAT, Los Angeles (2012 & 2016) and Performa, New York (2009).
