Los Angeles–based artist Laura Owens and art critic and historian Suzanne Hudson discuss the landscape of painting in our city. Part of MOCA’s new series about contemporaneity in art, their discussion explores this moment in Los Angeles as particularly rich for painting. The city’s wealth of art schools and the support of collecting institutions have made this city a verdant place for contemporary art in general and for Owens’s painting practice in particular.
Priority tickets are available to MOCA members one hour before the program at the MOCA Box Office. Fifteen minutes before the program begins tickets will be released to non-members. One ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended.
