Art historian Elena Shtromberg specializes in modern and contemporary Latin American visual culture, with a specific focus on Brazil and the U.S.-Mexico border region. She is the author of Art Systems: Brazil and the 1970s (2016), which maps the varied artistic practices in Brazil during the most repressive years of its military dictatorship. Shtromberg will discuss the work of Anna Maria Maiolino, as well as her own research, in conjunction with the exhibition Anna Maria Maiolino.
