Frances Stark’s creative practice is deeply embedded and invested in language. Stark and Owens have been in sustained dialogue over the years as contemporary artists in Los Angeles. This special Artists on Artists offers insight into Stark’s own layered and porous practice, which ranges from carbon drawing, collage, and mixed-media paintings to video, performance, and Instagram photographs, revealing shared nodes of influence and inspiration between the two artists over the years.
Priority tickets are available to MOCA members one hour before the program. Fifteen minutes before the program begins tickets will be released to non-members. One ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended.
